My breakthrough came in 2019. I had spent six months working on a new venture, Excel Business Coaching. Despite my efforts, I didn’t close a single contract. I was baffled, confused, and hit rock bottom. I told my wife, Alexis, that my coaching dream was over and that it was time for me to get a regular job. But then, something unexpected happened. After I quit, referral business began rolling in.
Here’s what I learned in August 2019? Hard work doesn’t create success on its own. It's alignment with success that breeds success. Hard work just increases your chances of finding success. When I quit, I dropped all resistance to my goal and moved into alignment. That's when business started flowing.
Over the past four years, I’ve expanded on this discovery, authored a book about it, and coached over a thousand people through JD Coaching. What I've found is both simple and profound: Starting in alignment with your target means you hit it faster. This is something I was never taught in school or in any job.
