Let Them Play

Written by on August 5, 2019

As a professional coach, I spend a lot of my time helping clients become reconnected to who they really are, to trust themselves, to think for themselves, to be themselves, to follow their passions, to end self judgement, to find joy and excitement in their lives.

Becoming a parent of 4 boys aged 8 and under has given me the unique perspective of seeing where self-doubt, self judgement, and the lack of self-confidence begins.

Yes, my life would be easier if they followed orders and behaved according to what’s best for me, but that’s not what’s best for them and that’s not the parent I want to be. I am not here to raise conformists who question themselves and blindly follow orders. If I had done that I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I want them to be boys
I want them to be playful
I want them to be creative
I want them to follow their passion
I want them to be curious
I want them to be excited about life
I want them to test boundaries
I want them to question authority
But most of all, I want them to think for themselves and be who they are and love who they are

Love these amazing people so much. And yes, it can be a little intense at times and yes I’ve said to myself “Keep it together keep it together keep it together” lol… And yes they did crack the screen on my iPad yesterday (ugh), but I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Super grateful to have my wife Alexis as my love and partner on this wonderful and crazy adventure.
